Logros Advisory Partners is pleased to announce that it has successfully advised the shareholders of Alertacall Limited on the sale of 100% of the share capital of the business to Volaris Group, part of Constellation Software Inc.
Alertacall is a Lake District-based technology business providing customer engagement and communications technology to the social housing and retirement living sectors. Founded in 2004 by James Batchelor MBE, the business has developed a range of technologies and services designed to help older people and other higher-needs groups remain safe, connected and informed.
The company’s services are now used in more than 25,000 homes across the UK and combine technology with human contact to enable housing providers to improve communication with residents. Alertacall was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2022, reflecting its pioneering approach to technology for older people.
The transaction represents a significant milestone for the shareholders, enabling them to realise value while securing a long-term future for Alertacall, its employees and customers. The sale to Volaris provides the business with the backing of a major international technology group, while retaining the autonomy of the existing management team and strengthening the platform from which the business can continue to grow.
Volaris Group is part of Constellation Software Inc., a Canadian-listed international software group. The acquisition provides Alertacall with a stronger balance sheet and the support of a long-term owner, enabling the business to continue investing in its people, technology and services while maintaining its culture and strong sense of purpose.
Nick Horrocks, Corporate Finance Partner at Logros Advisory Partners, led the transaction, supported by Brian Higgins. Logros advised the shareholders throughout the sale process, helping to balance shareholder value expectations with the long-term requirements of the business and supporting negotiations and execution through to completion.
James Batchelor MBE, founder and Chief Executive of Alertacall, commented:
“We were delighted to work with Logros. Their knowledge of the market and experience with the buyers meant we were able to find the right party to meet the requirements of all stakeholders in the business, but crucially ensure Alertacall, through its culture and strong moral purpose, could continue to meet the significant challenges and opportunities faced by older people in today’s society.”
Nick Horrocks, Corporate Finance Partner at Logros Advisory Partners, added:
“It was a pleasure to work with James and his team. Under James’s inspired leadership, Alertacall has become a pioneer in its sector. At the same time creating a highly successful business, built upon a strong moral purpose and a culture focused on delivering measurable improvements to people’s standard of living.”
Legal advice to the shareholders was provided by Adam Rayner and Sophie Cragg of Muckle.
Logros Advisory Partners continues to support business owners, investors and management teams across acquisitions, exits and growth strategies across the UK.
